Dear Friends,    

The Gordonsville Friends have enjoyed a blooming 2013/14, with our annual fall Booksale, three Friend’s Forums, Ellen Crosby at the Art Center of Orange, and even tulips!  It is amazing to remember it was only last spring that all the lovely landscaping was completed and the benches put in.

This year we raised over 1700 dollars and have provided over 1400 dollars to the Gordonsville Library for books, programs and library needs.

We began a “new year” with the May meeting of the GFOL. The officers elected for 2014/15 are:

     Phillis Hynes –President

     Myra Shinkle – Vice President & Historian

     Ann Friberg – Treasurer

     Emily Miksovic – Secretary

I know you join me in thanking Barbara Hamran for all her services as Secretary of the GFOL.  Her commitment, energy and talents are very much appreciated.  As a new president, I was glad to have Barbara’s insight and expertise always available, as well as her proofreading skills! Thanks for being a wonderful Friend Barbara!

Our next GFOL meeting will be August 27 at 7:00pm in the library community room.
