Press Release - Orange County Libraries Planning to Reopen on July 6th
Orange County, VA - The Orange County Public Libraries have reopened facilities to the public as of Monday, July 6, 2020.  This is the fourth phase in the phased re-opening plan.   Locations will reopen regular hours Monday through Friday.
What will be different?
• Face masks will be expected and appreciated in compliance with Governor Northam’s Executive Order 63.
• Social distancing will be required.
• We request that anyone with a fever or who is feeling ill with COVID19 symptoms please not enter our facility.
• Some furniture and computers will be unavailable in order to maintain the recommended six feet of social distancing. We respectfully request that customers not move the furniture.
• Some items that cannot be returned in our outdoor book returns or sanitized will be prevented from check out for now. These include newspapers, magazines, story time and adult reading kits, nature backpacks, telescope, and launchpad tablets.
• Libraries will offer curbside services only on Saturdays and no building access.
What about returns?
• Items will be accepted only through the book return bins attached to each building.  Please do not bring returns inside the library building.
• For the safety of staff, items will not be checked in until completing a 72-hour quarantine period.  Please do not be alarmed if an item does not disappear from your library account as soon as you return it.  We have added a grace period to our checkout rules to ensure that our delay will not create any late charges for our customers.
• Items checked in from now until Saturday, July 11, 2020, will receive credit as having been returned March 11, 2020.
What if I owe money?
If you have a concern about your account, please call a local branch. We will be doing liberal fine forgiveness until Friday, July 31, 2020 and will begin accepting cash payments in person on Monday, July 6, 2020.
What if I need to use a computer?
A limited number of computers will be available due to social distancing. Staff will make reservations for customers up to two (2) days in advance for a single daily session of either 55 minutes (standard) or a 120-minute session for those needing to seek employment, file government forms, complete coursework, or other non-entertainment tasks which require more time.  Customers only needing to print something can use our new mobile device and remote printing service through the PrinterOn app and PrinterOn.com.
